Each and every person has an ethical responsibility to themselves. What one believes is right and wrong for themselves is what ethical responsibility is. There is a greater form of ethical responsibility and that is the responsibility everyone has toward everyone else and their property. One may also argue everyone has a responsibility to the Earth. I do believe in all of this but not everyone will do what is right for everything. There will always be the person who believes they are doing the right thing and someone else would disagree. I don't really see hoe important ethical responsibility since its second nature to do what is best for you. If you take this to the next level then we have a different topic and a different answer.
Everyone does what they want want when they want and how they want to do it. This kind of limits how to respond to the greater ethical responsibility I posed earlier. In order for me to answer that I would have to disregard my earlier statement of how people only have the ethical responsibility to themselves. I am aware that there are those who think of others before themselves but most of what I have experienced this is not the case.
In order for people to think about others is hard to do when we have a natural instinct to take care of ourselves. This again is the ethical responsibility of people. People need to broaden their horizons and seek a new understanding of themselves. Most people would take a more ethical responsibility for other things not directly linked to themselves.
This I would have to say is the most controversial goal in this class because it separates people because of different views and beliefs. Some people think abortions are ok and other think they are unethical. So this in a way causes the same thing.
